Lord Jameson

Packaging design
and digital campaigns 

The Lord Jameson Everyday, Farm stand, Pill Hider, and Love Puff collections were redesigned in 2024 to position the brand as an approachable, all organic brand for DTC and larger retailers. As the lead designer for Lord Jameson's packaging and digital campaigns, I was tasked with creating a design system that would be reflected across all product lines and differentiate LJ on the shelf from other organic products. 

Problem

The Lord Jameson brand needs packaging that speaks better to their innovative product and that will stand out on shelves against other organic dog treats.

Idea

Design and bright and vibrant line of packaging that communicates flavor and brand values to consumers.

Original Packaging

Lord Jameson's original packaging for their Everyday Collection used only black with accent colors for each flavor. While elegant, this did not help the brand stand out on the shelf and did not read organic at fist glance.

Love Puffs Packaging

As the sole designer for this project, I was responsible for creating the packaging and branding design for Lord Jameson's Love Puffs, a crunchy, low calorie recipe made with organic sorghum. Five distinct flavors were developed, each with its own unique taste profile and vibrant color scheme.

 

My goal was to ensure that the packaging was both simple and eye-catching, allowing Love Puffs to stand out on the shelves amidst other organic product competitors. The final design successfully balanced a clean, easy to read aesthetic with bold, colorful elements that highlight the individuality of each flavor while maintaining a cohesive brand identity.

Everyday Collection

The Lord Jameson Dog Everyday Collection was redesigned  to appeal to pet owners and retailers while showcasing the unique product and its benefits clearly. The colors and type on the packaging were modified to integrate the new Pops Collection into the new design guidelines. The result allows the flavors to be readable from far away and creates a better hierarchy of product information. Each flavor is now more distinguishable and memorable.

Small Breed Collection

The Small Breed collection uses bright colors and fun design motifs to show off the smaller treats called "Little Rewards". There is a small breed seal on the front similar to that of the large breed collection.

Pill Hider Collection

The Pill Hider collection is a completely different product category for LJ, and needed to be differentiated in it's design and key benefits. A new window design with a dog illustration was created to make clear to consumers that this was a pill masker rather than a treat, while the colors point to the flavor profile and match LJ's brand palette. LJ created 3 exciting flavors designed to mask bitterness of medication, adding additional ease to the pill administration process for dogs.

Results

Love Puffs won Pet Independent Innovation Award for Best Dog Treat Product of the Year in 2024

Lord Jameson gained partnerships with retailers including The Vitamin Shoppe and Chewy 

​

Lord Jameson started selling internationally in Canada, S. Korea, and the European Union
